I began using art as a psychological tool. Depicting my thoughts and dreams through imagery on a canvas, sometimes through photography.
My technique was parallel with many of the surrealists I adored. As I studied art in school my thought process became more meticulous.
I spent more time on all the preliminaries then I would on actually painting. Conveying an important idea is just as important to the success
of a painting as layering the paint correctly. Now that I paint seemingly without boundaries I meld my old surrealist mentality with the teaching
I had in school.
As of late I feel the need to paint subject matter that deals with global issues. Our global population, seemingly dwindling resources and environmental
changes all become important subject matter to create from.
My work has been shown and purchased nationally and internationally throughout Michigan, Chicago, New York, Germany and Japan.
